Start With the Tile and Location
The right tile adhesive depends on tile size, tile body, surface condition and where the tile will be installed. A small ceramic wall tile and a large-format floor tile do not place the same demand on the adhesive.
Check the Substrate
The surface must be stable, clean and prepared. Cement plaster, concrete, existing tiles and wet-area surfaces may each require different product suitability. Weak or dusty surfaces should be corrected before fixing begins.
Consider Tile Size and Weight
Larger or heavier tiles need stronger support and better coverage. Adhesive selection becomes more important as tile size increases, especially on vertical surfaces or demanding areas.
Wet Areas and Exterior Use
Bathrooms, balconies and exterior spaces face moisture, movement and temperature changes. Choose a product designed for the intended exposure and follow application directions carefully.
